In the word of awesome nerd things, Google has once again made an excellent Pac-Man Google hybrid especially for April Fool’s Day.
And of all the places in world you can in world you can play, the most outrageous is on the streets of Pyongyang, North Korea. Only a select few outsiders get to see the sights of the North Korean capital, but Pac-Man? Waka-waka! – he’s away down the street.
If you head to Google Maps and click on the little Pac-Man icon, you can waste your time in the best way by playing in New York City’s Times Square, visit the U.S. President at the Whitehouse in Washington DC, lose your head around the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or bust through peak hour traffic in London’s Piccadilly Circus. During my *cough cough* intensive research, I found you can dodge wildlife in the Botanic Gardens and Opera House in Sydney; find your inner hipster in Melbourne, Victoria; play in Pac-Man’s home town of Tokyo, Japan; and cruise down the streets of Moscow, Russia.
When it comes to game play, compared with the original Pac-Man arcade machine this one is a bit more challenging, with sharp turns and fiddly controls harder on a keyboard than playing with a joy stick. But it’s fun if you want to give yourself a little challenge (and travel around the world vicariously).
Well played, Google. Well played.
